Miguel Valentin is the Director of Transportation for Rockdale County. As Transportation Director, Mr. Valentin oversees the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the County’s transportation infrastructure, including the management and oversight of SPLOST roadway improvement projects.
Mr. Valentin brings to Rockdale County more than 30 years of public works management and engineering experience in the public and private sector. A distinguished transportation leader, Mr. Valentin moved to Georgia prior to the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and played an integral role in the implementation of the first fully operational red light camera and the second Stomwater Utility in Georgia.
Prior to joining Rockdale County in 2007 as Deputy Director of Public Services & Engineering, Mr. Valentin worked for various agencies in positions such as City Engineer, County Engineer and Director of Engineering & Environmental Services.
Mr. Valentin is a Certified Municipal Engineer and Licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey and a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic University and master’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University. Mr. Valentin has three children who live in New Jersey.
