ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – In an effort to accelerate the corrective work on Sigman Road Phase II Widening and Multiuse Path Construction Project, the Rockdale Department of Transportation (RDOT) announced there will be a roadway closure at Sigman Rd. and Rockbridge Rd. on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Traffic will be detoured around Sigman Rd. on the West and Rockbridge Rd. on the North.
- From the North – traffic traveling northbound on Rockbridge, towards Sigman, will need to take a right onto Sigman and head eastbound.
- From the South – traffic traveling southbound on Rockbridge, towards Sigman, will need to detour onto Farmer Rd.
- From the West- traffic traveling eastbound on Sigman, towards Rockbridge, will need to detour onto Lester or Farmer Rd.
- From the East – traffic traveling westbound on Sigman, towards Rockbridge, will need to take a left onto Rockbridge and head southbound.
The closure begins on Saturday, March 4, at 7:00 am and will reopen at 5:00 pm. Detour signage will be placed prior to the closure. Uniformed officers (e.g., State Patrol) will provide traffic control support on-site. Road closures are subject to weather cancellations. In the event of bad weather, the closure will be postponed.
