FIRE RESCUE
Established in 1951, Rockdale County Fire Rescue (RCFR) is a comprehensive emergency response department that addresses a wide range of incidents, including fires, emergency medical services, hazardous materials, technical rescues, and natural disasters. Serving an area of approximately 132 square miles, RCFR responds to over 11,000 service calls each year. The department operates from an administrative building, a training annex, and ten fire stations, equipped with 7 engines, 3 Quints, 1 ladder truck, 1 Squad truck, 1 brush truck, 1 hazardous materials unit, and 2 command vehicles. RCFR has achieved an ISO rating of 2/2x.
RCFR is divided into two main divisions: Administrations and Operations. Beyond its fire suppression responsibilities, RCFR provides various services such as basic and advanced emergency medical care, fire and life safety inspections, plan reviews, fire prevention education, pre-fire planning, technical rescue, swift-water rescue, vehicle extrication, and brush fire suppression. The department also has various support teams including a bike medic team, SWAT medic, Honor Guard, and Peer Support team.
