ROCKDALE COUNTY PRESS RELEASE

U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock visited the site of Rockdale County’s future Restorative Justice Complex, located at 2800 Highway 138 SW, Conyers, GA 30094, on Monday, May 22, to tour the facility in support of the County’s mental health initiative. During this visit, Senator Warnock met with the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners and staff members to learn more about this portion of Rockdale County’s Stepping Up Initiative. The Stepping Up Initiative, led by Commissioner Dr. Doreen Williams, is adding the complex as an additional tool to continue to help assist those experiencing mental health issues and addictions as well as house organizations that are a part of Rockdale’s mental health community. The Complex will house the following:

• A Crisis Service Center which will provide short-term, 24/7, facility-based, walk-in
psychiatric/substance-related crisis evaluation and brief intervention services.
• Transitional Housing
• Grit & Grace Addiction Recovery Support Center
• View Point Health
• Community Service Board
• And an Emerging Certified Behavioral Health Community Center.

Senator Warnock has earmarked the facility for $1.9 million for the completion of the renovations and restoration of the facility. “I am grateful to be here and be a part of this move in the right direction,” Senator Reverend Warnock said of the day’s event. “The Restorative Justice Complex represents healing and restoration, and I am glad I was able to secure $1.9 million of congressional spending to aid in Rockdale County’s mental health efforts.” Construction on the complex is scheduled to begin in 2024.
