SPLOST Oversight Committee
The Special Purpose Local-Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) is a one percent sales tax collected by the county to fund developments and improvements of county and city facilities, acres of greenspace, parks and recreation facilities, road improvements and police and fire stations. Citizens voted for the current SPLOST in 2016.
Georgia law allows Rockdale and other counties and cities across the state to determine which projects are selected in their respective communities. Citizens’ pennies continue to make Rockdale a great place to live, work and play by improving quality of life in the County.
The SPLOST funds are managed by the SPLOST Oversight Committee. The Oversight Committee is a group of volunteer citizens in charge of prioritizing and overseeing the completion of the projects as funding is collected.
